San Francisco, CA - January 14, 2003 Conceptis Technologies, Inc., creators of theheart.org, and Velos, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership to jointly market Conceptis’ Clinical Trial Central™ service line and Velos eResearch.

Conceptis’ Clinical Trial Central™ is an internet-based product and service line that provides communication, information sharing, training, reference materials and other functionality to support clinical trials for its members. Velos eResearch is an internet-based product line that supports the administration, study execution, and study management needs of clinical research investigators and sponsors. The companies plan to collaborate in producing integrated product and service offering for clients and co-promote the product lines.

”The investigator activities that lead up to trial data submission, such as protocol design, budgeting, IRB approvals, patient recruitment, patient scheduling, and task management, account for the bulk of controllable elapsed time in clinical trials,” observes Greg Ogrodnick, President of Conceptis. “Solving these problems requires getting useful information technology into the hands of investigators, quickly and inexpensively. Velos eResearch is the best product we’ve seen for these purposes.”

“ The ability to efficiently and effectively reach, educate, and train investigators, and to assemble prominent investigator teams is of significant economic value to clinical trial sponsors,” notes John McIlwain, President and CEO of Velos. “Conceptis’ award-winning, web-based education and training products and specialty medical websites, such as www.theheart.org, provide exceptional advantages for clinical trials sponsors to more cost-effectively and expediently execute trial research. An integrated Conceptis’ Clinical Trial Center™ and Velos eResearch offering is of great value for both investigators and study sponsors. “
