Velos Executive Joins AMIA Clinical Trial Work Group Panel
Fremont, CA - November 8, 2006 - Velos, Inc., provider of the market-leading Velos eResearch clinical trial management system, today announced that its Executive Vice President, Amar Chahal, MD, joins a distinguished group of panelists at an AMIA Clinical Trial Work Group Panel Discussion at the Washington Hilton and Towers in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, November 14th, 2006, 5:15 - 7:15 PM.
"This will be an important discussion," says Dr. Stan Kaufman, Chair-Elect of the CTWG. "With the emergence of numerous public and private research efforts targeting clinical research informatics, the need for integration and collaboration across such programs is critical. By assembling key opinion leaders from all stakeholders, we hope to chart a clearer course not only for the CTWG but also for clinical research informatics generally." The session's conclusions will be transcribed, analyzed, and prepared for publication.
The AMIA Clinical Trials Working Group (CTWG) will be conducting a panel discussion incorporating representatives from the AMIA Global Trial Bank, WHO Clinical Trials Registry, BRIDG Project, caBIG, NIH Roadmap, CDISC, Pharmaceutical industry, and HIT industry, concerning the ways in which the CTWG can enable and support integration and collaboration within the rapidly developing field of clinical research informatics. Dr. Chahal will represent the HIT sector.
