• ODBC COMPLIANT REPORTING ENGINE – If you opt not to use Excel, the Velos application is ODBC compliant. Crystal, SASS, Cognos, QI Macros, and Analyze This (trending analysis) as well as other reporting engines can be used to report Velos data.

• INTERFACES – For a more automated approach, interfacing can take several minutes off each patient’s data entry record time. In addition to standard Velos ADT and hemodynamic interfaces, Velos also supports custom and HL7 interfaces using the Velos Interface Engine (VIE). VIE is a complete interface engine that supports the major classes of systems with which Velos specialty and research products interact. Such VIE Interface classes include ADT systems, hemodynamic systems, billing/charge capture, dialysis machines interfaces, lab systems, and third party registry systems.

• MULTI-FACILITY SECURITY – Hospitals may share one database, yet will see only their institution’s individual data when logging into the Velos program and generating reports.

To accommodate the ACC and STS societal version changes, some vendors create a new database rather than converting existing data into the new societal format. The consequence of doing this is that users now must run reports over two (or more) databases and then combine those reports to make a singular report. The end result is a lot of wasted time…
