The Velos Integration Engine (VIE) has been developed and
designed for clients using Velos clinical applications. The key
purpose of VIE is to allow clients to import and export a wide
variety of data to and from Velos clinical products. VIE was
developed using state-of-the-art Object-Oriented Design
techniques. The Velos Integration Engine is a generic engine, which
can be configured to import and export different formats, types and
classes of data to and from Velos clinical products.
In addition, standard, HL7-compliant interfaces have been
developed within the VIE framework to support the major classes of
third-party systems with which Velos specialty clinical products
interact. Such VIE Interface classes include ADT systems,
hemodynamic systems, billing/charge capture, dialysis machines
interfaces, lab systems, and third-party registry systems.
Within each class, specific adaptations have been developed to
support particular third party vendors. These interface classes and
class adaptations comprise the VIE Interface Library. More than 50
such vendor interfaces are in production today and comprise most of
the major system vendors in the medical specialties, or
subspecialties, that Velos Clinical products support.
