Velos is pleased to announce the releases of Velos eResearch 8.7 and 8.8. Great care has been taken to address customer needs, preferences, and recommendations. We believe our efforts and attention to detail have paid off with outstanding improvements and efficiencies. Velos eResearch delivers faster, more robust functionality, deploys an unparalleled capability for bio specimen management, and includes a fuller set of features in financial management. Other highlights include:
CONNECTION PROOFING
- Advanced queuing of database calls that allows connection between the application server and database to be reusable for subsequent calls. This feature improves performance speed of the application, especially for large numbers of concurrent users.
FORMS AND DASHBOARDS
- A new Form Response Status called “Incomplete” is now available. A form can be saved without applying all form validations, which is beneficial if the user does not have all data available when filling out the form response.
- Hide Form Status and Query Status options are now available by Study Team Role.
- A new Dashboard called “Query Management” provides three Views:
- Form Response View
- Form Status View
- Form Queries View
- Busy users, often interrupted, can search for an incomplete form quickly using the new Dashboard, then retrieve and complete the form without any loss in data.
- Workflow between site coordinators, monitors, and data managers is improved; the new Dashboard makes it easy for users to find their work and easy to pass work along to the next step/role in the workflow.
- The new Dashboard is task focused and role sensitive, displaying relevant information and providing easy navigation.
PATIENT AND FORM MODIFICATIONS
- CTCAE v4 AE dictionary is loaded.
- Audit trail documentation has been improved.
- An enhancement for Form Query Soft Check is included.
CLOSER INTEGRATION BETWEEN CALENDARS, BUDGETS AND MILESTONES
- Budgets are created automatically as Calendars are being designed.
- Calendar Visits and Events are kept synchronized with Budget Sections and Line Items.
- Amendments to Calendars are instantaneously available within the Budget.
- Milestone generation is just a click away from Calendar design.
ENHANCED BUDGET DISPLAY
- All Cost types carry over from Events to Budget Line Items (not limited to Research and SOC).
- There is more flexibility in storing Charge Master and subsequent incorporation into Budgets.
- Enhanced display helps with categorizing Events per appropriate CMS modifiers (i.e. Q0, Q1, Q2, etc.)
- There is clear separation and display of Indirect Amounts per Line Item.
- Enhanced display provides pre-population of Number of Patients from Sample Size.
INCREASED EFFICIENCY IN MILESTONE CREATION
- Amounts transferred to Milestones consistently include Indirect Amounts.
- Unachieved Milestones can be reverted to “Work in Progress” status for editing, if required.
- Cost Type (i.e. Research, SOC, Q0, Q1, etc.) attributes are retained within Milestones, allowing automatic and clear separation of receivables and billable items.
ADVANCED SPECIMEN MANAGEMENT
- Bar codes can be generated for new specimens.
- Bar code scanning for quick specimen retrieval is provided.
- Multiple storage statuses through batch mode receive regular updates.
- Visual display of storage units is enhanced.
- There is greater precision applied to date fields and quantity fields.m
